From Me To You
October 20th 2006 22:56
Hey dudes.
Hope you enjoy.
Am planning on seeing BoyTown today so hopefully will have that review up by tomorrow.
In the meantime if anyone has any films theyed like me to review feel free to post them here and I'll try to get a look at them. I draw the line at porn people but otherwise just give me a buzz.
hugs

I don't know that this is the right way to go about this but as you are setting up as a "proper" reviewer I should ask.
I am trying to track down copies or where I might view some ancient Australian films.
I don't know their entire titles but they were written and directed and stared in by Chips Rafferty.
King Of The Reef is one and the was a sequel
Another stars Chips in New Guinea saving the girl from man/woman eating warriors.
All three films feature lots of sailing shots on a pearling lugger and some memorable names that went on to Hollywood.
I have written to the Film archives but they have not bothered to reply.
Perhaps my description is very sketch but so is my brain. Not many films that went through this procedure were actualy shown so I guess copies must exist or maybe even videos made by now?
Cheers

Oz Movies
I looked up the first film.
I actually think you got the title wrong. He did star in something called King of the Coral Sea (1953). The film did alright both in oz and overseas and did launch some hollywood careers(notably Rod Taylor), I couldn't find any evidence of a sequel however.
As for finding a copy of the film - that might be more difficult - There is a site, at www.moviesunlimited.com where certain out-of print titles can be purchased. It might be quite pricy. If this fails I would suggest writing to the producers/distributors - in this case Southern International, Allied Artists and BEF Film Distributors.
For your second title, I think the film you are looking for is Walk into Paradise (1956) (Also known as Walk into Hell). The film was produced by Discifilm and Southern Film International and distributed by Patric Pictures inc. If you want to get a copy I think the same advice as above applies.
I hope all of this is of assistance
cheers

Maybe they will re screen the movies, that would be good. As I remember we all thought "wooden acting and ugh Aussie accents" but Chips and Rod of course were two of the best actors we had so that was not fair.
Thanks again
